HOW IT WORKS?

The first step is to complete our free online registration form to become a member where you tell us a bit about who you are and who you’d like to meet.

Our team hook up an equal number of women and men, in a private area of a chic, centrally located bar. You will have 5 minutes with each date.

Arrive on time and check in: pay the Speed Dating fee, get your score card, instruction sheet and drink coupon. Then go to the bar for a drink. Ladies will go to their assigned seats and men will wait at the bar until it is time to start.

After everyone has checked in we will make a few comments to explain the evening and how everything works. Then the Speed Dating will start: Women will already be seated at their assigned seats and the men of their first dates will sit down in front of them. The first date will begin - and then end after 5 minutes.  

After 5 minutes, when the whistle blows, everyone will mark their score card 'yes' or 'no' to the question "would you like to see this person again?"

There is no limit to the number of "yes’s" you choose and your choices are just between you and Beijing Speed Dating. The men will stand up and move to the next table and the next dates will begin...

In the middle of the event there will be a 20- to 30- minutes social period for guests to get another drink, mingle at the bar over hors d' oeuvres, use the rest rooms, etc. Beijing Speed Dating is a relaxed affair, and it's really fun.

At the end of the evening we will collect all the score cards. We will later compile all the data and see who wants to see whom again. If you have put a "yes" to someone who has also put a "yes" to you, that's a match!

You will receive within 48 hours at the latest (but usually within six hours) an e-mail giving you the names and contact details of the people you matched with. This means that within 2 days, if you join us, you will receive a list of names and phone numbers of people that you met and liked and who want to see you again too!! From then on it will be up to you to contact each other, and set up a dinner date or whatever you like.

 

COSTS

The normal cost to attend a speed dating event is 250 yuan which includes one drink and some hors d' oeuvres which will be provided during the break not to mention 10+ dates! Also if you think how much time and money it would cost you to go on 10 to 20 dates for dinner with a person you maybe have never seen before and recognize already in the first minute that you don’t even want to have dinner with.

At Beijing Speed Dating you will get to know many nice people at one evening and can then decide whether you would like to see that person again or not.

 

SPEEDDATING IS NOT A DINNER PARTY!

One drink and some hors d' oeuvres will be provided, but it will not be a dinner. The evening will be busy and there will not be much time to eat. Also, we have noticed that people that date with their mouths full have not done well with their scores. If you expect to be hungry, eat first or maybe take someone you have just met out to dinner.  

 

AFTER THE EVENING

You can stay and have another drink with us, or you can take someone you have just met out for dinner or whatever you want to do. It’s up to you.  

 

PUNCTUALITY & CANCELLATIONS

Clearly, it is very important that we have the same number of men and women.  As we don’t ask you to pay in advance, like many other agencies do, we appeal to you to inform us early enough that we can replace you and ensure an equal number of men and women on each of our events. Please tell us as soon you know or at least two to three days before.

Also, it is important to arrive on time. If you come late, you will miss your first dates and leave some attractive woman/handsome man sitting on their own for 5 minutes!!!
